[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] It has been confirmed that a total of 9 cases of adverse reactions occurred during the COVID-19 vaccination in the Jeonnam region.

The main adverse reactions were symptoms such as fever and chills, which are common after general vaccinations. All 9 cases are reported to have improved.

According to Jeonnam Province on the 1st, out of 17,767 people targeted at nursing hospitals and nursing facilities, 2,503 people (14.1%) have completed the COVID vaccine vaccination as of the previous day.

Using the AstraZeneca vaccine, on the first day of the vaccination on the 26th of last month, 2,022 people at 42 nursing hospitals and 336 people at 29 nursing facilities, totaling 2,358 people at 75 locations, were vaccinated. On the 27th, 145 people at 4 nursing hospitals were vaccinated.

So far, a total of 21,900 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine have been delivered: 6,800 doses to 22 public health centers and 15,100 doses to 112 nursing hospitals. According to the vaccination plan, vaccinations are scheduled to be completed by the 5th.

The Pfizer vaccine is being administered to infectious disease-dedicated hospital workers at the Honam Regional Vaccination Center, and Mokpo, Suncheon, and Gangjin Medical Centers plan to conduct observation training at the Honam Regional Vaccination Center from the 3rd to the 5th and then carry out vaccinations independently.

The province has established a rapid epidemiological investigation and response system in case of adverse reactions and designates personnel responsible for monitoring adverse reactions at each hospital and facility for 7 days after COVID-19 vaccination.

Kang Young-gu, Director of the Health and Welfare Bureau, said, “Our province has been steadily preparing by forming a vaccination promotion team to vaccinate priority groups first,” and added, “We will strive to ensure safe vaccine management and smooth vaccination.”
