20% Decrease in Hiring Scale Compared to Last Year
Recruiting 335 Administrative and 79 Technical Positions
Written Exam to Be Held on June 5
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will newly hire 414 level 9 public officials.
On the 2nd, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced the "2021 Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Level 9 Local Public Official Open (Career) Competitive Recruitment Examination Plan." This year's recruitment scale is 414, which is 109 (20%) fewer than last year.
Applications for the written exam will be accepted online for five days from April 19 to 23. The written exam will be held simultaneously nationwide on June 5. Major subjects will be set by the Ministry of Personnel Management, and other subjects will be prepared by the joint question preparation headquarters of the 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education.
Only those who pass the written exam will take the personality test on August 14 and the interview on September 10, with the final successful candidates to be announced on October 1.
The new hires include ▲ open competition 364 people ▲ career competition 50 people. By field, ▲ administrative positions 335 people (education administration 290, computer 12, librarian 33) ▲ technical positions 79 people (industrial 3, facilities 5, health 21, facility management 50).
To guarantee public office entry opportunities for socially disadvantaged groups, at least 7% (31 people) of the total planned hires will be persons with disabilities, and at least 2% (10 people) will be low-income individuals including single-parent family protection targets, recruited separately.
Following last year, this year as well, facility management positions will be recruited to reduce the workload of school facility management and strengthen support for school sites. Some of the facility management positions will be specially recruited for national veterans (recommended by the Veterans Affairs Office).
The number of technical positions for graduates (or expected graduates) of specialized high schools and Meister high schools will be announced on the 8th due to the revision of the "Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Local Public Officials Personnel Regulations."
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education stated, "To prevent the spread of COVID-19, we will strive to create a safe exam environment through thorough disinfection of exam sites before and after the exam, designation of quarantine officers, temperature checks for all examinees, and securing distancing between examinees."
