[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] A video from the scene of an assault incident involving Noel (real name Jang Yong-jun), the son of People Power Party lawmaker Jang Je-won, has been released.
On the 27th, Busan Ilbo published videos and photos taken by a man in his 20s, Mr. A, who claims to have been assaulted by Noel.
The released footage shows Mr. A shouting, "So give me the money, you punk who thinks you're a hipster. Yeah, you said you'd give me money, so give it," while Noel, appearing intoxicated and staggering, responds, "I'll give it, you f***er."
The video also captures Mr. A making remarks such as "You’re a beggar," "You’re a thug," "I bet you don’t even have ten million won in your bank account," and "You don’t look like you have any money" toward Noel.
A woman with Noel in the video tries to put a mask on his face and argues with Mr. A’s side, saying, "Call the police," "I’ll give you the money. Are you insurance fraudsters?" and "I earn more money than you do."
Additionally, the woman points out to Mr. A’s side filming the scene, "You know this (filming the video) is defamation, right?" Meanwhile, Noel is seen protesting, "Am I a thug? I said I’ll give you money, so am I a thug?"

According to Mr. A’s claim, on the 26th at around 1 a.m., he parked his Carnival van on the sidewalk next to a one-way single lane road near Bujeon Library in Busanjin-gu, Busan, and was standing on the stairs of a nearby building. Later, Noel and his group passed by and pushed the side mirror on the driver’s side of the vehicle with their arm. When Mr. A demanded an apology, Noel allegedly cursed at him.
As the argument between Noel and Mr. A escalated, Noel reportedly said to Mr. A, "Do you know who I am?" Mr. A claims Noel then said, "Give me your account number, I’ll give you money," as if trying to resolve the situation with money.
Mr. A also stated that even after the police arrived, Noel continued to curse severely, spat on his face twice, and pushed his chest with his hand. Mr. A emphasized, "I plan to file a complaint with the police next week against Noel and one female acquaintance, and I have no intention of showing leniency toward Noel."
However, Noel’s side claims that contrary to Mr. A’s allegations, it was a mutual assault.
Meanwhile, netizens who viewed the video have expressed mixed opinions. Comments criticizing Noel include, "He’s the son of a sitting lawmaker and has already caused controversy with drunk driving; he should have restrained himself," and "How many times has he caused trouble already?" However, some netizens pointed out issues with Mr. A’s attitude as well.
In the released video, Mr. A’s side is seen repeatedly making provocative remarks such as, "Don’t step on my shoes. They cost ten times more than yours," "You’re a beggar," "I probably have more money than you," and "Are you a hipster?" which escalated the situation.
Neither Noel nor his father, People Power Party lawmaker Jang Je-won, have made any particular response to this matter.
