GS25 is launching a nationwide campaign commemorating the March 1st Movement, themed "Medical Staff Who Became Martyrs."
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The convenience store industry is conducting various marketing activities such as nationwide campaigns, fundraising, and limited-edition products to commemorate the March 1st Movement Day.
GS25 is partnering with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to carry out a nationwide campaign themed around "Medical Personnel Who Became Martyrs" until the 15th of next month. GS25 decided to use lunchboxes as the key medium connecting 33 medical personnel martyrs and the public in this campaign. Stickers containing the names and achievements of the 33 medical personnel martyrs, selected with advice from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and Professor Kim Hee-gon of Andong University (Emeritus), will be produced and attached to all lunchbox items sold.
During the campaign period, a fundraising project to support current medical personnel will also be conducted. Customers who purchase lunchboxes and accumulate GS&POINTs during the campaign will generate donation stamps within the The Pop app. When customers tap the stamps, 1,000 KRW per stamp will be collected as donations, allowing anyone to participate indirectly in the donation. GS25 will cover the entire donation amount, which will be used to support medical personnel working hard to overcome COVID-19.

Anyone can participate via CU’s official Instagram account.
Limited-edition products commemorating March 1st Movement Day will also be released. CU will exclusively sell 3,100 sets of the 40240 Dokdo Soju package and the 40240 Dokdo Soju special package. The 40240 Dokdo Soju was designed to inform the world that Dokdo is Korean territory with the postal code 40240. It is a distilled soju made primarily from domestic rice and deep ocean water from Ulleungdo.
A BGF Retail official said, “We planned this event and product to create an opportunity to reflect on the noble meaning of March 1st Movement Day in a non-face-to-face way.
