Collaboration with Sangmyung University... Applications Open Until 3 PM on March 19 for Prospective Entrepreneurs and Startups Within 7 Years...
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu, in collaboration with Sangmyung University, is conducting two startup competitions in the ongoing 2021 Sangmyung University Campus Town Project: one in the 'Digital Convergence New Industry Field' and the other in the 'New Normal Devices & Smart Devices Field.'
The 'Digital Convergence New Industry Field' includes examples such as digital utilization robots, digital healthcare, smart monitoring, AR/VR, and 3D printing, while the 'New Normal Devices & Smart Devices Field' refers to IoT devices, AI, smart devices, smart homes, and remote control.
This competition targets 'pre-startups and startups within 7 years,' selecting a total of 12 teams, 6 teams per field. The selected teams will receive prize money as follows: 1st place 5 million KRW, 2nd place (2 teams) 3 million KRW, and 3rd place (3 teams) 2 million KRW.
Additionally, through phased evaluations, business support funds (up to 5 million KRW) for product manufacturing and shared spaces (Startup Development Center located in Nokbeon-dong, Eunpyeong-gu) for meetings and other uses will be provided. Opportunities such as specialized mentoring and lectures in technology R&D, commercialization, marketing, and business promotion will also be offered.
The application period for the competition is from February 22 to March 19 until 3 PM. Applicants can check the basic information in the relevant announcement on the Eunpyeong-gu Office website (Eunpyeong Introduction → District News → Notices) and Sangmyung University website (SM Lounge → Integrated Notices), and submit application documents via email to the Sangmyung University Campus Town Project Team at apollo@smu.ac.kr.
An official from Eunpyeong-gu stated, “We hope that many capable and innovative startups will be discovered through this competition, greatly contributing to youth job creation and regional economic revitalization through entrepreneurship.”
