Guro-gu Begins COVID-19 Vaccine Inoculation

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) took the first step to regain lost daily life by starting COVID-19 vaccination on the 26th.

The first vaccination was conducted at Samnong Silver Village nursing facility located in Oryu-dong at 10 a.m.

The vaccination targets were 30 workers under 65 years old who are prioritized for vaccination.

Along with this, Guro-gu also vaccinated about 160 patients and workers under 65 years old at four nursing hospitals in the district.

After observing the recipients for about 30 minutes post-vaccination, no adverse reactions or side effects were observed in any of the vaccinated individuals.

Guro-gu plans to complete vaccinations for 1,911 people at 24 high-risk facilities including nursing hospitals, elderly care facilities, treatment hospitals, and psychiatric rehabilitation centers by March, as well as 2,700 medical institution and public health center workers, and paramedics.

In May, 69,000 elderly people aged 65 and over will be prioritized for vaccination, followed by vaccinations for the general population (ages 18-64) starting in July.

Vaccinations will be provided free of charge from May at the Guro-gu vaccination center located at the Guro-gu Community Center and nearby local clinics and hospitals.

Guro-gu will actively provide information on vaccination targets and schedules through the district office website, newsletters, and SNS to ensure residents can receive vaccinations with confidence.
