[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul Metropolitan Government and Munhwadaum announced on the 1st that they will operate the program "Gye-dong, Searching for the Memories of That Day" in Bukchon, the origin site of the March 1st Movement, where people can experience the stories of that day through videos in March.
This program screens videos that combine stories about places, people, and events related to the March 1st Movement in Bukchon with content such as travel, music, and poetry. The videos consist of a total of four episodes and will be screened both online and offline every Saturday from the 6th at the Seoul Hanok Portal, Bukchon Culture Center's social media, and Bukchon Culture Center's education hall.
At the Bukchon Culture Center, throughout March, every Saturday, the four-episode video series "Gye-dong, Searching for the Memories of That Day" will be screened, along with activities such as "Writing Thank You Letters to Independence Activists" and "Free and Guided Tours at Bukchon Culture Center." The schedule and content for the resumption of on-site programs at Seoul public hanok vary by facility, so individual confirmation is required for those wishing to visit or participate in experiences.
Ryu Hoon, Director of Urban Regeneration at Seoul City, said, "Bukchon is a living residential area where diverse history, tradition, and modern life harmonize," adding, "I hope this will be a meaningful time to reflect on the value and significance of Bukchon, where the spirit of the March 1st Movement remains everywhere."
