COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign Begins on 26th... Vaccination Starts with Workers and Residents Under 65 in Local Nursing Hospitals and Care Facilities

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 26th, when COVID-19 vaccinations began nationwide simultaneously, Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) also embarked on a grand vaccination campaign for all its residents.

Staff members are receiving vaccinations at a nursing hospital located in Jongam-dong, Seongbuk-gu.

At this nursing hospital, AstraZeneca vaccines arrived on the 25th, and the first vaccinations began on the 26th targeting staff and residents under the age of 65.

Approximately 1,500 individuals in elderly group facilities such as nursing hospitals and nursing homes in the area are scheduled to receive vaccinations by early March. Afterwards, high-risk medical institution workers and epidemiological investigators will be vaccinated, and starting in May, the vaccination target will expand to include residents aged 65 and older.

General residents in Seongbuk-gu will receive vaccinations by age group and in phases according to government policies starting from April.
