[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] About 40 days before the April 7 Busan mayoral by-election, the opposition party continues its sharp criticism of President Moon Jae-in, who visited Busan including the site of the new Gadukdo Airport. The People Power Party immediately announced that it would take legal action.
On the 26th, Joo Ho-young, floor leader of the People Power Party, said, "(President Moon) is the ultimate example of election manipulation using government power," and raised his voice, saying, "We will not tolerate President Moon's interference in the election and will take firm legal measures."
At the party's parliamentary meeting that day, Floor Leader Joo strongly criticized President Moon's visit to Busan the previous day. He said, "It is an attitude that does not hesitate to interfere in the Busan mayoral by-election solely for the election."

In particular, he intensified his offensive by mentioning suspicions surrounding the Ulsan mayoral election interference and the Democratic Party of Korea's alleged involvement in the 'Druking' case.
Floor Leader Joo pointed out, "It is an attitude befitting the regime that interfered in the Ulsan mayoral election during the 2018 local elections and orchestrated the Druking presidential election manipulation," adding, "It was also notable that Song Cheol-ho, mayor of Ulsan, and Kim Kyung-soo, governor of Gyeongnam, who are the main figures in these two cases, accompanied President Moon."
He continued, "Regarding President Moon's Busan schedule, the Democratic Party and the Blue House are attacking the opposition party with spokespeople, going beyond excuses to shameless accusations," and said sharply, "You cannot cover the sky with your palm. The public knows well that the president and the Blue House are faithfully playing the role of the election campaign headquarters."

The People Power Party also urged the Central Election Commission to express its position, viewing President Moon's visit to Busan on the 25th as a violation of election law.
Bae Jun-young, spokesperson for the People Power Party floor, urged, "As the last bastion of the Public Official Election Act, the chairman of the Central Election Commission must send a clear warning message to the government and ruling party regarding yesterday's trip to Busan and various vote-buying acts."
