Legoland Korea Resort Signs Agreement for Workforce Training and Recruitment Cooperation

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Legoland Korea Resort announced on the 26th that it has signed a business agreement on workforce development and recruitment with Gangwon Provincial Government, Chuncheon City, and local universities.


This agreement was prepared to connect employment opportunities for residents of Gangwon Province and Chuncheon City and to promote the development of the local community, as Legoland Korea Resort is scheduled to open in the first half of 2022 with plans to hire 1,200 to 1,600 employees.


The 'Legoland Korea Resort Workforce Development and Recruitment Business Agreement Ceremony' held at the Legoland Korea Resort construction site was attended by a minimal number of officials considering social distancing, including Kim Youngpil, President of Legoland Korea Resort, Choi Moonsoon, Governor of Gangwon Province, Lee Jae-soo, Mayor of Chuncheon, Kim Heon-young, President of Kangwon National University, and Kim Joongsu, President of Hallym University.


Through this agreement, Legoland Korea Resort plans to prioritize hiring university students from within the province and citizens of Chuncheon for staff recruitment related to the 2022 opening. After signing the agreement, Legoland Korea Resort will recruit necessary personnel through its own selection process targeting participants who have completed educational programs at universities and other participating institutions. This year, recruitment will be conducted on a rolling basis, and in 2022, internships and open recruitment will be held.


Kim Youngpil, President of Legoland Korea Resort, explained, "Starting with this agreement, Legoland Korea Resort plans to expand employment opportunities within the Gangwon region and discover diverse local talents based on the principles of nurturing talent without discrimination and providing equal employment opportunities."
