Strengthening Search Function on Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Website, Launching Archive Service
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Just one quick click to pinpoint exactly what you need! Obtaining safety and health materials has become very fast and easy.
The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA, President Park Doo-yong) has completely revamped its website to make it easier to find various materials that can be used for industrial accident prevention at workplaces.
To provide safety and health materials accurately and easily, the website’s “Safety and Health Materials Room” search function has been enhanced, and the “Safety and Health Archive” service has been launched. Printed materials are now distributed as e-Books to encourage frequent use at workplaces.
Now, by clicking the “Quick Menu” on the agency’s website, users can immediately access the Safety and Health Materials Room and freely use the comprehensive Safety and Health Archive.
The biggest change in the “Safety and Health Materials Room” revamp is the multi-condition search function. Users can simultaneously select categories such as “production format, industry, type of accident, language” to pinpoint exactly what they want from the vast amount of materials.
Also, materials are arranged mainly in thumbnail summary lists, allowing users to distinguish materials at a glance. On the detailed pages of materials, users can check the content and table of contents without downloading, making searches more convenient.
The “Safety and Health Archive” is a total service that digitizes printed safety and health materials owned by the agency, which have high preservation value and workplace utilization, providing them as e-Books with full-text search capability.
The target materials include about 410 volumes such as “Monthly Safety and Health,” “Safety and Health Practical Guide,” “Brochures,” and “Agency History.”
The Content Development Department of the Education Innovation Office at the agency proudly stated, “Materials can be viewed as e-Books on computers or smartphones without file downloads, and users can quickly find needed content through not only the indexed table of contents but also keyword search functions.”
The agency provides more than 6,600 customized industrial accident prevention educational materials by workplace, industry, and type of hazardous accident in various formats such as books, leaflets, posters, lesson plans (PPT), videos, and VR materials both online and offline through the website’s “Safety and Health Materials Room.”
For some printed educational materials, the agency also offers a “Media On-site Delivery” service that delivers materials free of charge to workplaces upon request.
By entering the Quick Menu on the agency’s website and clicking “Media On-site Delivery” in the Safety and Health Materials Room, users can complete the process. Only the shipping fee is required to have valuable materials delivered right to their doorstep.
A KOSHA official said, “Safety and health education tailored to the characteristics of workplaces is important for preventing industrial accidents,” and added, “We hope workplaces will easily and diversely utilize the educational materials they need through the Safety and Health Materials Room and Safety and Health Archive services.”
