Employment Index of 9,308 Construction Companies Released... Reflecting Comprehensive Evaluation Bidding System

[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Construction Workers Mutual Aid Association announced on the 25th that it calculated the '2021 Construction Workforce Employment Index' for 9,308 general construction companies.

The Construction Workforce Employment Index is reflected as bonus points in the comprehensive evaluation bidding system, which selects the successful bidder by considering factors such as bid price, construction performance capability, and social responsibility (construction safety, fair trade, contribution to the local economy). Companies that create more jobs and have fewer wage arrears receive higher scores.

As a result of the calculation, 9.9% (926 companies) of the targeted construction companies received perfect scores. This is about a 3.1% increase from 898 companies the previous year. 10.0% (935 companies) received zero points.

The number of companies penalized for wage arrears was 45, a 29% (18 companies) decrease compared to the previous year.
