Recruitment of New Members for Songpa District Cultural, Arts, and Sports Organizations

From Choir to Rhythmic Gymnastics... Providing Vitality to Tired Residents through Various Cultural Activities

Recruitment of New Members for Songpa District Cultural, Arts, and Sports Organizations 2019 Songpa-gu Choir Regular Concert

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is recruiting new members for public cultural, artistic, and sports organizations to comfort the hearts of residents exhausted by COVID-19 through various cultural activities.

This year, 6 out of 10 public cultural, artistic, and sports organizations are recruiting new members: ▲Silver Choir ▲Symphony Orchestra ▲Youth Symphony Orchestra ▲Boys and Girls Choir ▲Rhythmic Gymnastics Team ▲Taekwondo Demonstration Team.

The Silver Choir and Boys and Girls Choir offer opportunities to experience diverse musical activities through exchange programs that promote friendship within the region and with other areas. The Symphony Orchestra and Youth Symphony Orchestra provide opportunities for social contribution activities for culturally marginalized groups and participation in overseas invitation performances.

The Rhythmic Gymnastics Team and Taekwondo Demonstration Team allow youth to gain confidence and a sense of achievement through sports activities and to experience the value of sharing through culture.

In particular, new members will have the opportunity to perform at large-scale local stages such as Lotte Concert Hall and the Residents' Hall at least once a year, as well as participate in representative Songpa-gu events such as the Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival and the Hanseong Baekje Cultural Festival. Activity expenses are also supported during weekly regular practices and participation in various local government and international cultural exchange events.

The application deadline is March 19th at 6 p.m.

Since eligibility, recruitment fields, screening, and schedules differ by organization, applicants must check the recruitment information for each of the six organizations on the district office website's public announcement section before applying.

The district plans to resume face-to-face practice depending on the COVID-19 situation and enable new members to serve as local cultural ambassadors during regular concerts, exchange performances, competitions, and district-hosted events.

For inquiries, contact the Songpa-gu Office Culture and Sports Division.

Songpa-gu Mayor Park Seong-su stated, “We will fill vacancies in cultural, artistic, and sports organizations to complement each organization's functions and help the residents and local cultural, artistic, and sports communities recover from the prolonged stagnation caused by COVID-19.”
