[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) received a donation of 20,000 masks from the self-support enterprise ‘Haengbok Nareumi’ and distributed them to homeless shelters and self-support facilities in the area.
‘Haengbok Nareumi’ was established mainly by low-income residents such as basic livelihood security recipients and was recognized as a self-support enterprise in 2016. The company has contributed to delivering community welfare by performing government grain delivery services.
Kang Sang-wook, CEO of Haengbok Nareumi, said at the handover ceremony held at Eunpyeong-gu Office on the 22nd, “I am glad to be able to give back, even if only a little, the help I received from society during difficult times,” and added, “I hope that workers at welfare facilities vulnerable to infectious diseases can work safely and provide help to more people.”
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, expressed her sincere gratitude, saying, “I sincerely thank CEO Haengbok Nareumi and the workers who practice sharing despite difficult circumstances.”
Meanwhile, on the 18th, Eunpyeong-gu distributed the 20,000 donated masks to 154 welfare workers working at five homeless welfare facilities and one local self-support center in the area.
