[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (President Kim Kyung-ho) announced that it signed a construction contract on the 15th with the Geukdong Construction Consortium as the architectural contractor for the Garak Market Modernization Project Wholesale Zone 1 District (Vegetable Building 2) and is preparing to commence construction.

Vegetable Building 2 was selected through a comprehensive evaluation bidding system that assesses price and performance capabilities, with the Geukdong Construction Consortium chosen as the successful bidder. The consortium consists of Geukdong Construction (51%), Keunbit General Construction (29%), and Pyeonggwang Construction (20%), who will jointly carry out the construction.

Additionally, contracts for electrical, telecommunications, and fire protection works are expected to be completed by the end of this month.

Vegetable Building 2 will be constructed on a 60,615㎡ site out of the total 531,830㎡ area, with a total floor area of 57,067㎡, consisting of one basement level and three above-ground floors. It is scheduled for completion in October 2023, with a total investment of 130.4 billion KRW.

President Kim Kyung-ho stated, “Now that the contract for the Garak Market Modernization Project Vegetable Building 2 construction (architecture) has been completed, we will do our best to ensure its safe completion.”
