[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] Amid concerns about meal shortages for elderly people living alone due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea, the chicken specialty franchise Cheogajip Yangnyeom Chicken has donated 1,000 raw chickens to elderly individuals facing difficulties.
On the 23rd, the Biwon Senior Welfare Center in Seo-gu, Daegu, announced that Cheogajip Yangnyeom Chicken sponsored 1,000 raw chickens to support elderly people living alone who are at high risk of meal shortages due to COVID-19.
The donated raw chickens will be prepared as side dishes for lunchboxes and delivered to each household.
Park Seung-hwan, CEO of Cheogajip Yangnyeom Chicken, said, “In these difficult times of COVID-19, we hope that elderly people living alone can have a hearty meal and gain strength. We will continue to grow as a company that practices sharing especially during tough times.”
Kwon Deok-hwan, director of the Biwon Senior Welfare Center, expressed gratitude, saying, “We appreciate the warm sharing that enables elderly people living alone to maintain a healthy diet, and we will strive even more in welfare projects for the elderly in the local community.”
