After staying in single digits for two weeks in the Gyeongbuk area, this spread of COVID-19 is centered around daycare centers in Gyeongsan City and hot spring bathhouses in Uiseong County.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 19th, as of midnight that day, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area was 3,122 (including 48 imported cases), which is 22 more than the previous day. The number of confirmed cases by region is 11 in Gyeongsan City, 10 in Uiseong County, and 1 in Gunwi County.
Among the 11 new confirmed cases in Gyeongsan City, 10 came from a daycare center where a cluster infection occurred the previous day. These include 7 family members of daycare children, 1 family member of a teacher, 1 acquaintance, and 1 child who had contact with a daycare child. Accordingly, the cumulative number of confirmed cases related to this daycare center has increased to 24 (including 1 case in Andong the previous day).
In Uiseong County, 7 of the 10 new confirmed cases are contacts of Uiseong case number 52, confirmed the previous day. Among them, some are linked to confirmed cases related to the Uiseong Tapsan Hot Spring, where a cluster infection occurred, making it difficult to classify the infection routes. The remaining 3 are contacts of a previously confirmed case in the Daegu area from the previous day.
In Gunwi County, 1 person was confirmed positive during the full inspection of visitors to the Uiseong Tapsan Hot Spring.
