[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 15th that it has secured 1.199 billion KRW in national funding after being selected for the '2021 Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project' organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
Buk-gu had a total of seven projects selected, including training specialized personnel for the 4th industrial revolution and employment linkage to resolve job supply and demand difficulties.
New projects selected include the 'Training Specialized Personnel for Commercialization of Converged Medical Products' project and the 'Career Interrupted Women Vaccine Program,' which provides education on social service practice and cooking skills for career-interrupted women.
Five existing projects, such as small and medium enterprise awareness improvement projects and entrepreneurship education program operations, were selected again this year following last year.
Buk-gu plans to officially launch the projects after signing a business agreement with executing agencies such as the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office within this month.
Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, "This project will have effects on supporting field-centered economic activities and creating regionally specialized jobs," adding, "We will continue to discover and provide jobs that fit the local industrial conditions and demands with the goal of a vibrant regional economy."
