[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A woman who engaged in prostitution after meeting a man in his 50s through a chat application reported to 112 after a dispute over payment, resulting in both parties being booked by the police.


On the 12th, the Suseo Police Station in Seoul announced that they have booked and are investigating Mr. A on charges of violating the Act on the Punishment of Arrangement of Commercial Sex Acts (Sex Trade Punishment Act).


Mr. A is suspected of engaging in prostitution with a woman he met through a chat app at a motel in Gangnam-gu around 2:50 p.m. the previous day. It was reported that Mr. A is a public official working in the metropolitan area.


After the prostitution, the woman, who was disputing the payment with Mr. A, reported to 112 claiming "I did not receive the money properly," which led to the crime being uncovered. During the investigation, the police found that the woman took cash from Mr. A's wallet and added theft charges against her.


The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident involving both Mr. A and the woman.
