[Photo] Oh Seung-rok, Nowon District Mayor, Signs 'Nowon Lifelong Citizen University' Public-Academic Cooperation MOU with 7 Universities


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 9th at 3 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for academic cooperation with seven universities in the district at the small auditorium on the 6th floor of the district office.


Currently, Nowon-gu is home to seven universities: Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Korea Military Academy, Kwangwoon University, Sahmyook University, Seoul Women's University, Korea Bible University, and Induk University.


To promote lifelong education in Nowon-gu, the district has partnered with local universities to open university facilities and operate specialized programs accessible to residents, aiming to establish Nowon as a lifelong learning city.


According to the agreement, the district will oversee the overall operation and provide funding for the Nowon Lifelong Citizen University, while each university will offer learning programs and educational facilities tailored to their specialties.


The signing ceremony was held with the attendance of Mayor Oh Seung-rok and the presidents (heads) of the seven universities, proceeding with congratulatory speeches from the schools and the mayor, signing and exchanging the agreement, followed by a commemorative photo session.


Mayor Oh Seung-rok of Nowon-gu said, “I am grateful that all seven universities in the district participated without exception in the project to realize a lifelong learning city,” adding, “We will closely cooperate to ensure that various programs reflecting the characteristics of each university are provided to residents.”
