[Personnel] Busan City Office of Education (March 1)

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seok-jun) announced the regular personnel appointments effective March 1 for 380 administrators and educational professionals in kindergartens, elementary, and secondary schools.

By school level, there are 223 in kindergarten and elementary schools, and 157 in secondary schools. For kindergarten and elementary schools, a total of 92 principals were appointed, including 30 through promotion and transfer, 7 through principal recruitment, 26 reappointments, and 29 transfers. Vice principals included 22 through promotion and transfer, 61 transfers, and 2 national transfers, totaling 85 appointments.

For secondary schools, 54 principals were appointed, including 33 through promotion and transfer and 21 through reappointment and transfer. Vice principals included 32 promoted from teachers and 23 through transfer and transfer.

There were 46 elementary and 48 secondary educational professionals appointed through promotion, transfer, and reassignment.

In this personnel announcement, Kim Kwang-soo, Director of Educational Innovation Division, was promoted and appointed as Director of the Education Bureau of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education. Lee Ki-bong, Director of School Life Education Division, was promoted and appointed as Director of Haeundae Education Support Office. Jo Yoon-sik, Director of Education Support Bureau of Haeundae Education Support Office, was promoted and appointed as Director of the Student Education Center. Park Gwi-ja, Head of Elementary Training Department at the Education Training Institute, was promoted and appointed as Director of the Student Arts and Culture Center.

Busan Metropolitan Office of Education appointed principals for 10 schools including elementary, middle, and high schools through an open recruitment system. For schools in less preferred surrounding areas, the principal transfer recommendation system and principal transfer requirement system were applied to strengthen accountability in school management and autonomy in educational activities.

Jung Seok, Head of Teacher Personnel Division at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, explained, "This personnel appointment placed competent talents with practical capabilities to actively promote the policies and future values of Busan education at the school site."
