On the 7th, Jo Doo-pal apologized on her social media (SNS), stating that it was not dating violence by her boyfriend but a quarrel that arose from a misunderstanding.
Jo said, "The matter has been resolved well with the other party," adding, "In the past three weeks, frequent fights and quarrels caused both of us to lose our mental stability and misunderstand each other. During emotional conversations, a slight quarrel occurred, and while trying to avoid the situation, another misunderstanding arose, which escalated emotions. I posted my frustration and anger on SNS. I was very careless in this regard."
She continued, "First, regarding the violence part. My boyfriend tried to hold my wrist to continue the conversation. Since I was emotionally upset, I misunderstood it as physical abuse. Regarding the choking part, while I was trying to leave, my boyfriend grabbed my shoulder and pulled me, asking to talk briefly. I tried to shake off his hand, and due to mutual mistakes, a slight injury occurred on my neck."
She added, "As the situation worsened and misunderstandings were not resolved, I impulsively wrote a provocative post on SNS. I was really careless and thoughtless about this part. Currently, all misunderstandings have been cleared. Once again, I want to clarify that the allegations of physical abuse and violence were misunderstandings, and there was absolutely no dating violence involved."
Finally, Jo said, "I apologize for causing misunderstandings and worries to many people due to this post and our personal matters. We have decided to take some time apart and are currently temporarily separated."
