Dongjak-gu Issues 15 Billion Won Dongjak Love Gift Certificates

From 2 PM on the 4th, purchases up to 700,000 KRW per person per month available at a 10% discount... Usable at over 8,300 ZeroPay merchants including local traditional markets, supermarkets, and academies

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) has issued Dongjak Love Gift Certificates worth 15 billion KRW in the first half of the year to support local businesses and revitalize the economy during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Starting from 2 PM on the 4th, the district will issue three types of gift certificates with face values of 10,000 KRW, 50,000 KRW, and 100,000 KRW in mobile form.

Consumers can download Zero Pay mobile apps (Beeple Zero Pay, Check Pay, Payco, Nonghyup All One Bank, etc.), authenticate, and link their payment accounts to purchase the gift certificates at a 10% discount, with a maximum purchase limit of 700,000 KRW per person per month.

The purchased gift certificates can be used at over 8,300 Zero Pay affiliated stores within the district, including traditional markets, supermarkets, beauty salons, and academies, excluding large supermarkets and department stores. However, usage is restricted at ▲entertainment and nightlife establishments ▲general and foreign language entrance exam academies with annual sales exceeding 1 billion KRW ▲movie theaters affiliated with large corporations ▲franchise direct stores operated by large and medium-sized enterprises.

Unused gift certificates can be fully refunded if canceled within 7 days from the purchase date, and if more than 60% of the face value has been used, the remaining balance excluding the 10% discount amount will be refunded.

Last year, the district issued Dongjak Love Gift Certificates worth 17.5 billion KRW and sold out completely.

Kim Jung-won, Director of the Economic Promotion Division, said, “We hope that the Dongjak Love Gift Certificates will activate local consumption and revive the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19,” adding, “We will thoroughly manage the Dongjak Love Gift Certificate (Zero Pay) affiliated stores to ensure there are no inconveniences in using the gift certificates.”
