It’s Hanbul Applies for Chinese Patent on 'Skin Microbiome' Improvement Technology

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] It’s Hanbul announced on the 2nd that it has filed a patent application in China for the 'Lactobacillus pentosus strain and a composition for improving microbial flora and skin barrier containing the same.'

This patent is a unique technology of It’s Hanbul that can be applied to skin microbiome cosmetics, which are gaining attention not only in Korea but also in the Chinese beauty industry. The microbiome refers to the ecosystem of microorganisms living on the skin, and it is designed to enhance the skin’s natural strength so that users can experience healthier and improved skin.

The main patented ingredient, ‘Lactobacillus pentosus HB-8023,’ is a skin-safe fermented lactic acid bacterium derived from kimchi. It promotes beneficial bacteria on the skin, strengthens the skin barrier, and provides excellent moisturizing effects.

It’s Hanbul expects this patent application to be a stepping stone for entering the rapidly growing Chinese microbiome skincare market.

Geunsu Lee, head of the It’s Hanbul C&I Research Institute, stated, “This patent represents an advanced technology introduced not only domestically but also in China, and we plan to officially launch skin microbiome cosmetics applying patented lactic acid bacteria fermentation ingredients in the Chinese market. You can look forward to It’s Hanbul’s skin microbiome technology, which will be realized in future products.”
