Online Content 'Getting Rich' Emerges for the New Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] As the new year begins, interest in financial investments such as real estate and stocks is growing, and related online content is gaining popularity.

Online class platform Class101 recently introduced specialized financial investment courses reflecting students' needs through 'Class101 Money,' which shares knowledge on side jobs and financial investments. Currently, the most popular class in this category is "Making 1 Million KRW per Month with a Smart Store," taught by YouTuber 'Sinsa Imdang,' who has over 1.2 million subscribers. She teaches office workers how to start and operate an online shopping mall, receiving positive responses. Following this, various financial investment classes on real estate, U.S. stocks, and AI-based stock investing are ranking high in popularity.

Demand for courses that help generate additional income while working is also rapidly increasing. Classes like "Earning Money by Selling Digital Files as a Hobby" and "Creating an Emoticon Pension with Characters" offer systematic curriculums so beginners can start easily. Above all, the ability to communicate directly with creators who provide professional lectures is cited as a key factor for their popularity.

'Ants Are Still Plump Today,' released on KakaoTV, is a practical stock entertainment show that guides viewers on how to invest wisely in the era of ultra-low interest rates. It shows celebrities experiencing stock investments in real-life situations, delivering both information and humor, which has attracted strong interest from younger generations. After building essential basic knowledge such as how to read financial statements in Chapter 1, the recently aired Chapter 2 explores investment strategies and offers hands-on experiences with useful information. A stock expert participates as a mentor, sharing valuable know-how on reading market trends and important points to check.

Financial investment-related content on YouTube channels is also increasing. The popular stock YouTube channel 'Shuka World' covers various economic issues including companies, finance, and stocks. It explains complex topics in an easy-to-understand way, making it engaging even for those without basic knowledge, which has helped it surpass 1 million subscribers. Another stock YouTube channel, 'Super Ant Kim Jeong-hwan,' is run by Kim Jeong-hwan, who started with 70 million KRW and built a 20 billion KRW stock portfolio. He provides lectures helpful to viewers, delivering everything from basic information to mental management tips for beginners who feel overwhelmed about where to start with stocks.
