Daesun Shipbuilding Delivers Self-Developed LPG Carrier 'Korea Vision' to GS Caltex

Successful Localization of 3500CBM-Class Shipbuilding Technology in Collaboration with KRISO ... Targeting the Global Market

Daesun Shipbuilding Delivers Self-Developed LPG Carrier 'Korea Vision' to GS Caltex The 3,500 CBM LPG carrier 'Korea Vision' built and delivered by Daesun Shipbuilding.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Daeseon Shipbuilding announced on the 29th that it has delivered a 3500CBM-class Korean pressurized LPG carrier ordered by GS Caltex.

The vessel, ordered by GS Caltex in June 2019, was named "KOREA VISION" and handed over to the operator Sangji Shipping. This ship is scheduled to be deployed on the Yeosu~Jeju route shortly.

The 3500CBM LPG carrier delivered this time was not built in Korea for the past 10 years, and Daeseon Shipbuilding developed it using its own technology after securing the order.

Daeseon Shipbuilding applied the latest hull form through technical cooperation with the Medium-sized Ship Design Project Group of the Ship & Offshore Plant Research Institute. It was designed considering operational convenience and the safety of LPG cargo, and domestication technology was enhanced by having the Korean pressurized tank specialist company "Lee Young Industry" manufacture and install the tanks.

Daeseon Shipbuilding plans to enter the global market for new small and medium-sized pressurized LPG carriers with this vessel delivery.

Having established itself as a shipyard requiring proprietary technology for building feeder container ships, small and medium-sized special ships, tuna purse seiners, and coastal passenger ships, Daeseon Shipbuilding once again demonstrated its technological capabilities through this LPG carrier delivery.
