Uniquest Subsidiary PUI and North American FMS Market Sign Mutual Exclusive Contract Agreement

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] AI Matics, a subsidiary of Uniquest, announced on the 28th that it has signed a mutual exclusive contract for FMS (Fleet Management System) with the US vehicle management system company 'Positioning Universal (PUI)'.

Through this contract, AI Matics will exclusively supply more than 20,000 AI cameras annually to PUI for five years, linking them to the cloud to charge users a monthly subscription fee. This business contract follows the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed with PUI in June, turning the previous mutual interconnection pilot service into a business agreement. This marks the first case of a Korean company entering the North American AI video telematics market.

AI Matics is a specialized company in AI video monitoring and safe driving platform services. Since 2003, it has independently developed camera sensor video recognition and processing technology, supplying it to domestic and international automakers. Since 2019, it has expanded its business area to a video monitoring service platform based on camera sensors. PUI, established in 2013, provides IoT communication-based vehicle management services and, through this contract, has officially entered the video-based vehicle management market with high growth potential.

The R8W model, which AI Matics will exclusively supply to PUI, is a product optimized for the video monitoring (video telematics) market. The AI camera selectively stores and manages only videos deemed meaningful through PUI’s device to the cloud. Additionally, it provides real-time ADAS alert functions to drivers during operation as a basic feature.

This contract is significant in that AI Matics is officially providing platform services. Having supplied AI cameras for black boxes and ADAS mainly to automobile manufacturers for the past 19 years, AI Matics is transforming from a simple manufacturer to a company offering AI device-based platform services through this contract. The analyzed and stored data values and video information in the cloud will be provided in a monthly subscription format. Real-time driving status, accident status, violation status, alert sound data, and vehicle management data can be directly checked, responded to, and managed by administrators or drivers, marking a technological and service advancement.

Andrew Kim, CEO of AI Matics, stated, “Through this contract, we will solidify our position as a leader in the North American video telematics service market and expand our business further into various overseas markets such as Israel, South America, and Europe, as well as securing the domestic mobility platform market.”
