One Employee at Hwasun Dongmyeon Administrative Welfare Center Confirmed Positive... All Staff Tested

According to the county on the 28th, employee A of the Dong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center was finally confirmed positive that morning.

It was investigated that A had contact with Jeonnam patient number 734, an employee of the Sapyung-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, on the 22nd.

A, who resides in Gwangju Metropolitan City, also visited a screening clinic in Gwangju for testing and was confirmed positive. He is classified as the 14th confirmed case in Hwasun and the 1682nd in Gwangju.

Upon learning of the employee's positive case, the county immediately closed the Dong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center temporarily for disinfection and conducted comprehensive testing of all employees. The employees are self-isolating until the results come out.

The county is also conducting tests on visitors to the Dong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center.

An interim screening clinic was set up in the Dong-myeon Agricultural and Industrial Complex for diagnostic testing, and with support from the Jeonnam Province mobile bus temporary testing site, resident diagnostic testing is being expedited.

The county is working with the Jeonnam Province epidemiological investigation team to identify additional movement paths and contacts.

Comprehensive testing of residents related to the confirmed case at the Sapyung-myeon Administrative Welfare Center is ongoing, and diagnostic test results for 821 residents of Sapyung-myeon from the 25th to the 27th all came back negative.

A county official said, “COVID-19 confirmed cases related to the Sapyung-myeon Administrative Welfare Center have been emerging daily,” and urged, “Residents who visited the Sapyung-myeon and Dong-myeon Administrative Welfare Centers must visit a screening clinic and get tested.”
