[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Ki-dong] The Mokpo E-Land Senior Welfare Center (Director Kang Ju-ho), operated by the social welfare corporation E-Land Welfare Foundation (Chairman Park Sung-kyung), announced on the 28th that it has been conducting an intensive survey to identify at-risk individuals in welfare blind spots, such as elderly and solitary seniors, since the 11th.

Since last year, the Mokpo E-Land Senior Welfare Center has been carrying out a customized care service project for the elderly, providing appropriate care services to vulnerable seniors to ensure a stable old age, maintain their functions and health, and prevent deterioration.

The targets of this intensive survey are those aged 65 or older who are recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, belong to the lower-income bracket, or receive the Basic Pension, and who do not qualify for similar overlapping programs (such as long-term care insurance grades for the elderly, users of housekeeping and nursing visit support projects, users of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs' home welfare services, etc.), or elderly individuals in need of care such as those living alone, in grandparent-grandchild households, or elderly couples.

The subjects are being directly identified on-site by 78 life support workers and dedicated social workers affiliated with the Mokpo E-Land Senior Welfare Center, and the identification will be expanded through cooperation with administrative welfare centers, local residents in the jurisdictional neighborhoods, and project promotion.

The services provided to the subjects include direct services such as safety support (welfare checks, living safety inspections, information provision, companionship, etc.), social participation (programs to improve social relationships, self-help groups, etc.), and life education (education on physical and mental health). There are also services to support daily living, such as accompaniment for outings and driver support services.

Additionally, linked services include sponsorship of goods and housing improvement connections to support the stable living of the subjects.

Kang Ju-ho, director of the Mokpo E-Land Senior Welfare Center, stated, “Through this intensive survey of at-risk individuals, we will provide customized case management and services for seniors in welfare blind spots to ensure their healthy and stable old age.”

Applicants for the customized care service project for the elderly can apply at any time without a separate recruitment period, and seniors who need this service or their families can apply by visiting the local eup/myeon/dong community service centers near their residence.

The Mokpo E-Land Senior Welfare Center will continue efforts to proactively identify and protect vulnerable individuals with welfare needs.
