[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] The Open Democratic Party issued a statement saying, "Politics is not the work of monsters." This was a criticism of People Power Party lawmaker Jo Su-jin's remark about 'concubines.'

Jeong Yoon-hee, deputy spokesperson of the Open Democratic Party, said, "Jo Su-jin of the People Power Party's 'concubine' slur is not only sexual harassment against female politicians but also mockery and insult to the people," adding, "Jo Su-jin, who has voluntarily shown herself to be a disgrace to the people, has proven that she is unfit to be a member of the National Assembly."

She continued, "Seeing Jo Su-jin's insulting remarks toward the people, the day when the People Power Party closes its doors is not far off. Members of the National Assembly are constitutional bodies representing the people. This is why the conduct of lawmakers is important. The people no longer want to hear Jo Su-jin's abusive language."

Deputy spokesperson Jeong said, "We hope the National Assembly will convene the Ethics Special Committee to expel Jo Su-jin for her 'concubine' slander as a crime of insulting the people and strip her of her National Assembly membership. Politics is done by people, not monsters."
