Jeon Nam-do Councilor Lee Min-jun, Establishes Foundation for Internet Addiction Prevention and Resolution Lee Min-jun, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Lee Min-jun, a member of the Jeollanam-do Provincial Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea·Naju 1), announced on the 27th that the "Jeollanam-do Office of Education Ordinance on Internet Addiction Prevention Education" fully revised ordinance, which he proposed as the main sponsor, has passed the Education Committee review.

This full revision ordinance newly establishes the legal foundation for education aimed at preventing and resolving students' internet addiction, fully revising the ordinance in accordance with the full revision of the higher-level law.

The main contents include ▲ change of title (Ordinance on Education for Prevention and Resolution of Overdependence on Intelligent Information Services by the Jeollanam-do Office of Education) ▲ establishment of definitions for intelligent information services and overdependence on intelligent information services (Article 2, Clause 2 and Article 2, Clause 3) ▲ deletion of the term for substitute members of the Internet Addiction Prevention Committee (Article 8), etc.

In particular, the term "internet addiction" in the higher-level law has been replaced with "overdependence on intelligent information services," resulting in overall terminology adjustments and phrase modifications. Additionally, by aligning the scope of education between the higher-level law and the ordinance, unified and effective education is made possible.

Assemblyman Lee Min-jun said, "With this ordinance revision, it is expected that an environment where students can use intelligent information services healthily will be created amid the increasing use of computers and smartphones."

Meanwhile, this ordinance is scheduled to be finally approved at the 2nd plenary session of the 349th extraordinary meeting on the 2nd of next month.
