[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang County, Gyeongnam, announced on the 27th that he donated 1 million won as a special Red Cross membership fee to the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross.
The donation ceremony was held to encourage the participation of county residents in membership fee fundraising, attended by Kang Taek-seop, standing committee member of the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross, Jeong Yeon-ho, chairman of the Geochang District Council, and other related officials.
Mayor Gu In-mo of Geochang County expressed his gratitude to the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross for their dedicated volunteer work for marginalized groups and neighbors in need, saying, “Since the funds will be used for humanitarian projects such as disaster victims and finding separated families, we will strive to create an atmosphere where county residents can take interest and participate in fundraising activities.”
The county has set a target of 30 million won for Red Cross membership fees this year and has been conducting fundraising activities during the intensive fundraising period from December last year until the 31st of this month.
