Operation of 'Visiting Marine Humanities' and Marine Science Experience for Middle School Students in Busan
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-soo) received a plaque of appreciation from the Ministry of Education for its efforts to promote career experience programs for middle school students.
Pukyong National University was recognized for its contribution to the development of career education and the reduction of career experience gaps by participating in the 2020 Career Experience Bus activities organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.
The Career Experience Bus is a project that operates career experience programs that directly visit students to establish a foundation for resolving educational disparities.
Last year, Pukyong National University operated various experiential activities for middle school students in the Busan area through the ‘Pukyong Visiting Marine Humanities’ event, a regional humanities center program of the Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) Project Group (Director Son Dong-joo).
The Pukyong National University HK+ Project Group has been dedicated to helping middle school students cultivate marine humanities literacy by exploring Yeongdo Huinnyeoul Village to experience the history, life, and culture of Yeongdo refugees, and visiting the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology to conduct marine science experiences.
The Pukyong National University HK+ Project Group operates various programs such as one-day special lectures, lectures, forums, exhibitions, and contests, providing students with career exploration and career planning opportunities, and contributing to the development of the marine humanities field.
