Online Briefing Session to be Held for 3 Days from the 15th to the 17th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 27th that it will conduct a demand survey for participating organizations to join in socializing failure experiences as social assets and spreading support and encouragement for re-challenge to local communities as part of the '2021 Failure Expo.'
Last year, support was provided to 6 local governments and 9 private and public institutions, and this year, in order to expand private sector participation, support is planned for about 4 local governments and 13 private and public institutions.
This demand survey will be conducted from March 1 to March 2 for local governments, public institutions, and private organizations (groups) wishing to participate in the Failure Expo. Depending on the type, applicants can apply for either a regional expo or a self-planned program. Participating organizations must select the target and field of failure and re-challenge and establish a cooperative system with experts and related institutions inside and outside the region. Organizations that have previously participated in regional expos and self-planned programs can also participate to continuously promote the culture of re-challenge.
The Failure Expo, which started in 2018 to change the negative perception of failure and establish a cultural foundation for an inclusive society where people can start again even after failure, is now in its fourth year.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will hold an online briefing session to help understand the Failure Expo and encourage participation from organizations in various fields interested in the demand survey. The online briefing will be held for three days from March 15 to 17 for pre-registered participants, and detailed information can be found on the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s website, blog, and other social media channels.
Kim Hak-hong, Director of Regional Innovation Policy at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, “We express our gratitude to the 6 local governments and 9 private and public institutions that worked hard to spread the culture of re-challenge throughout last year,” adding, “We hope for active participation from private and public institutions and local governments to encourage re-challenge and create a social atmosphere that embraces failure.”
