Payment Before Lunar New Year Holiday for Businesses with Annual Sales Over 1 Billion KRW in Restricted Sectors That Did Not Receive Government Disaster Relief Funds
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will provide 3 million KRW of the 'Gangnam-type Support Fund' per business to a total of 550 establishments, including entertainment facilities, academies, and indoor sports facilities that have been excluded from the government's 3rd disaster relief fund despite long-term suspension due to social distancing upgrades. Applications will be accepted starting from the 27th.
The recipients are business operators running prohibited gathering businesses, including 300 entertainment facilities with sales of 1 billion KRW or more in 2019 or 2020, 200 academies, and 50 indoor sports facilities with sales of 3 billion KRW or more. Businesses violating the gathering ban are excluded.
Entertainment facilities can apply by visiting the Gangnam-gu Office Hygiene Division with the application form, business registration certificate, and other documents by the 29th, or by submitting via email or fax.
The application period for academies and indoor sports facilities is until February 2nd. For detailed inquiries, contact the Gangnam-gu Office Education Support Division or Culture and Sports Division.
The district considered the significant impact on self-employed operators of prohibited gathering facilities who have been unable to operate for a long time and plans to provide the support quickly before the Lunar New Year holiday to offer practical help.
The support fund is restricted to use for quarantine expenses such as facility disinfection.
Since the beginning of this year, the district has prepared various support policies to ease the management burden of self-employed and small businesses affected by COVID-19, including an emergency support project of 500,000 KRW for public utility fees for small business owners and low-interest loans using a 20 billion KRW small and medium enterprise development fund.
