[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is operating the exercise program "Overcoming COVID-19! Wise Home Training" to improve the physical activity of residents, which has decreased due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
This program is designed to help residents improve their fitness and immunity by providing an exercise program that anyone can easily follow at home, and it will be operated in four sessions with 20 participants per session.
The first session will be conducted online for 10 weeks starting from February 15. Participants join the Naver Band group, receive exercise materials and educational videos, and submit exercise logs 2 to 3 times a week.
Participants will be lent home training equipment such as resistance bands and Pilates rings, and will engage in various programs including ▲ upper and lower body strength exercises using small tools ▲ full-body exercises using small tools ▲ aerobic walking missions.
Additionally, participants will undergo surveys and body composition tests related to physical activity before and after the program, and can receive health consultations, which are operated by prior reservation.
Applications will be accepted by phone on a first-come, first-served basis for 20 people starting February 1 at the Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center Exercise Education Room. Any resident who can use electronic devices such as smartphones or computers and has no musculoskeletal disorders can participate.
Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “We have prepared an online exercise program to improve the fitness of residents whose daily lives have been restricted due to COVID-19. We hope everyone feels revitalized through various exercises every week, and we will continue to prepare diverse and beneficial health promotion programs.”
