[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A famous influencer in Bali, Indonesia, was forcibly deported after riding a motorcycle with a woman and jumping into the sea, drawing fierce criticism from local residents.

According to Detik News on the 25th, Russian influencer Sergey Kosenko was deported from Bali the previous day on charges of violating immigration law.

Kosenko, who has 4.9 million Instagram followers, drove a motorcycle carrying a woman in a swimsuit at a port in Bali last December and jumped into the sea.

The two people who fell into the water smiled as if they had accomplished something, and the motorcycle sank underwater.

When Kosenko posted the video on Instagram, an unexpected reaction followed. Bali residents strongly opposed it, saying, "Throwing trash thoughtlessly in a situation where the marine environment is suffering from marine debris." As local residents continued to protest fiercely, the Bali local police launched a formal investigation on charges of violating environmental laws.

Kosenko explained, "After filming, I pulled the motorcycle back up. It was part of a charity activity to help children," but the residents' dissatisfaction did not subside.

Eventually, on the 24th, Kosenko apologized and was deported, saying, "I love Bali. I am sorry." An immigration official reportedly stated, "(Kosenko) came to Bali on a tourist visa in October last year and extended the visa once, but engaged in commercial activities that are not allowed under that visa."
