[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 26th that literacy instructor Kim Mi received the Minister of Education Commendation on the 25th in recognition of her contribution to the revitalization of literacy education.


Since 2014, instructor Kim Mi, who has been active at the Muan County Women Farmers and Fishermen Center Adult Literacy Classroom, has been providing learning opportunities to about 30 elderly people every year.


So far, instructor Kim and the graduates of the literacy classroom have stood out by winning numerous awards participating in national adult literacy education poetry and painting contests and the Beautiful Jeollado Dialect Pride Contest.


She also published a book titled "Sibangeun Amgeotdo An Muswa, Geuljareul Ankke" to widely share the joy of elderly people learning to read and write.


Instructor Kim Mi said, “I feel rewarded to be responsible for the learning of the elderly, and I will continue to work harder for literacy education.”


Governor Kim San said, “I encourage the efforts of instructor Kim Mi, who gives new hope to elderly people who missed the opportunity to learn, and sincerely congratulate her on the award,” adding, “We will spare no support so that more elderly people can enjoy the joy of learning in the future.”
