Gimhae City Installs Pedestrian-Activated Traffic Signal Near Nonghyup Seogimhae Gas Station

Expectations to Resolve Chronic Congestion from Oedong Intersection to Seogimhae IC

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, will install and operate pedestrian-activated traffic signals at the intersection near the Nonghyup Seogimhae Gas Station.

Pedestrian-activated traffic signals are installed at intersections with little pedestrian demand to minimize unnecessary vehicle waiting times.

This installation is expected to greatly help alleviate habitual congestion during rush hours on the Oedong Intersection to Seogimhae IC section.

A city official stated, “At intersections with pedestrian-activated traffic signals, pedestrians must press the signal button, then check the crossing signal and cross the street safely.”
