[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Rain is forecast to fall in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions starting from the early morning of the 26th.
The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration announced on the 25th that due to a low-pressure system passing over the southern sea, rain that began at midnight on the 26th along the southwestern coast of Jeonnam will expand to the entire region by morning and cease by 6 p.m.
Expected precipitation amounts are 10?30 mm along the southern coast of Jeonnam and 5?20 mm in other areas.
Strong gusts and thunder/lightning are expected over the southern sea, so vessels navigating or fishing in the area should exercise special caution.
Temperatures are expected to be 4?8℃ higher than average in most areas until the 27th, resulting in mild weather.
The morning low temperatures on the 26th?27th will range from 3 to 7℃ and -1 to 2℃, while the daytime highs will be 8 to 10℃ and 6 to 12℃.
During this period, fine dust levels are expected to be ‘Moderate’ in Gwangju and ‘Good’ in Jeonnam.
A Gwangju Meteorological Administration official urged, “Visibility will be reduced and road surfaces will be slippery in areas where rain is falling, so drivers should maintain sufficient distance between vehicles and reduce speed to ensure traffic safety.”
