13 Confirmed Cases in Gyeongnam ... 2 Deaths Reported (Comprehensive Update 2)

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 25th that a total of 13 confirmed cases occurred: 5 in Changwon, 4 in Geoje, 2 in Jinju, 1 in Miryang, and 1 in Gimhae.

Among the 5 confirmed cases in Changwon, 3 tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and were classified as cases 1870, 1871, and 1876.

The remaining 2 were confirmed cases related to the Jinju prayer center, testing positive in the pre-release quarantine test and classified as cases 1877 and 1878. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to the Jinju prayer center to 71.

Among the 4 confirmed cases in Geoje, one was a family member of a confirmed case from Siheung, Gyeonggi-do, and two were contacts of confirmed cases within the province, classified as cases 1867, 1868, and 1873 respectively.

The other one was a confirmed case related to Geoje nursing services, testing positive and classified as case 1874. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to Geoje nursing services to 20.

The 2 confirmed cases in Jinju tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and were classified as cases 1869 and 1875.

The single confirmed case in Miryang tested positive after voluntarily getting tested due to symptoms and was classified as case 1872. The infection route is under investigation.

The single confirmed case in Gimhae was tested after contact with a confirmed case’s family member from Busan and initially tested negative. However, as the condition worsened two days prior, additional testing was conducted, and the patient died this afternoon. Subsequently, the test result was reported positive, and the case was classified as 1879.

Additionally, one patient in their 80s who was receiving inpatient treatment at Gyeongsang National University Hospital in Changwon also died.

Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province increased to 1,876 (208 hospitalized, 1,660 discharged, 8 deceased).
