Jeonnam Province Launches Full-Scale Response to COVID-19 Vaccination

First Meeting of the 'COVID-19 Response Council'... Discussion on Building a Cooperation System

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province has formed a consultative body for COVID-19 vaccination and has begun full-scale response efforts.

According to the province on the 25th, the first meeting of the 'COVID-19 Vaccination Response Consultative Body,' a public-private cooperation system established to safely and swiftly carry out COVID-19 vaccination, was held on the same day.

An explanation of the COVID-19 vaccination implementation plan was provided, and in particular, discussions were held on the selection of priority vaccination target groups, response systems in case of adverse reactions after vaccination, and the establishment of cooperation systems and roles among various institutions.

Attendees exchanged opinions on the need to consider selecting healthcare workers with a high risk of COVID-19 infection and residents and workers of group facilities such as elderly care facilities as priority vaccination targets.

So far, the province has established the 'COVID-19 Vaccination Implementation Plan' and formed the 'COVID-19 Vaccination Response Consultative Body' with experts from local medical associations and related organizations to ensure smooth preparation for COVID-19 vaccine administration.

This consultative body is composed of 18 members from related organizations, including Song Sangrak, Vice Governor of Jeonnam Province, as chairman, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly members, the Infectious Disease Management Support Group, local medical centers, local medical associations, as well as the 31st Division, Fire Headquarters, Police Agency, and Education Office.

Vice Governor Song Sangrak said, "Through continuous consultative body meetings, we will establish close cooperation and response systems among related agencies," and added, "We will prepare every process flawlessly from the moment the vaccines arrive to the final vaccination and post-management so that the residents can receive the vaccine with confidence."
