Delivery of Support Packages Worth About 4 Million Won to COVID-19 Public Health Center Screening Clinics
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 22nd, Gwangyang City announced on the 25th that it delivered support packages (a set of 7 products from Gwangyang City village enterprises) to health center screening clinics working hard to respond to COVID-19, in cooperation with the Gwangyang branch of the Korea Village Enterprise Association (Representative Jeong Hae-cheol) and 7 village enterprise organizations.
The donation ceremony was held with the attendance of 9 people including Jeong Hyun-bok, Mayor of Gwangyang, Kim Jae-kyung, Chairman of the Gwangyang City Love Sharing Welfare Foundation, Jeong Hae-cheol, Representative of the Gwangyang branch of the Korea Village Enterprise Association, and representatives of 6 village enterprises (Ahn Eun-young, CEO of Sunshine Green Farm Co., Ltd., Kim Ki-bok, CEO of Gwangyang Maehwagol Farm, Kim Jae-bong, CEO of Haewoo Co., Ltd., Seo Jae-hwan, CEO of Farmer’s Garden, Park Haeng-ja, Representative of Gosa Village Women’s Association, Lee Ki-wook, CEO of Dasarang Co., Ltd.).
The support packages consisted of specialty products produced by 7 representative village enterprises in Gwangyang City, including plum syrup, traditional soybean paste from home gardens, plum detoxifier, seaweed crisps, handmade tofu, shiitake mushroom powder, and sprout ginseng. Each of the 7 product sets will be delivered in 20 sets with messages of gratitude and support to medical staff working hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Jeong Hae-cheol, Representative of the Gwangyang branch of the Korea Village Enterprise Association, said, “I hope this will provide some strength to the medical staff who are silently standing guard to prevent COVID-19 infection despite the cold weather.”
Jeong Hyun-bok, Mayor of Gwangyang, said, “I thank those who donated support items to the medical staff who are working hard for the health and safety of Gwangyang citizens amid the prolonged COVID-19 crisis,” and added, “We will do our best to overcome the COVID-19 crisis with even greater strength.”
