[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] The Korea Celebrity Baseball Association (SBO, President Jeong Cheonsik) is set to begin basic training for female celebrity players on the 26th in preparation for the launch of a women's celebrity baseball team and league. The SBO Hanstar Women's Celebrity Baseball Team, currently being established, has appointed singer Insooni as its inaugural team leader. The team plans to share small joys through baseball with multicultural families and all those facing difficulties in our society, while engaging in charitable activities.
SBO is opening its doors to female celebrities who have not had actual baseball experience and is forming a team. To this end, they recruited legendary singer Insooni, who runs the multicultural school 'Haemil School' in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, as the team leader.
On the 26th, SBO will conduct training for the first group of female celebrity applicants from 3 PM to 5 PM at the baseball training center 'Player Factory' in Seongsu-dong, Seoul (Director Lee Kyunghwan). The coaching staff, including SBO Women's Celebrity Baseball Team Manager Lim Ho, Head Coach Sung Daehyun, Lee Kyungpil (former Doosan pitcher), Kim Gimu (actor and former Hanwha player), Kim Hwan (announcer), Sung Yubin (singer), and Park Jinhyung (Yashin Yadeok creator), will teach basics such as catch ball, throwing, and defensive posture to beginner players.
The eight celebrities participating in the first training session include singers Kim Yang, Ji Sehee, So Kim, comedian and singer Park Jinju, Miss Intercontinental MC and reporter Ga Jeongyeon, model and broadcaster Seo Jinyeong, announcer and model Kim Eunbi, and Miss Korea Lee Jeongyeon. The training will be conducted with limited participants due to the COVID-19 situation, strictly following disinfection protocols before and after training, and adhering to safety guidelines such as social distancing and mask-wearing. The SBO Women's Celebrity Baseball Team, the first of its kind in Korea, will consist of about 30 members.
