Lee Hyuk-jae Sued on 'Debt Controversy' Charges for Borrowing Tens of Millions Won and Not Repaying

[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Broadcaster Lee Hyukjae (47) has been sued on charges of borrowing tens of millions of won from an acquaintance under the pretext of business funds and failing to repay it.

According to the police on the 25th, complainant A filed a complaint at the Cheonan Dongnam Police Station in Chungnam on the same day, stating that "Lee took money and did not return it."

The amount A suffered damage from is reported to be about 20 million won. Lee is known to have borrowed money from A under the pretext of business funds and failed to repay it on time.

The police plan to summon A and Lee in turn to verify the facts.

Previously, in 2017, Lee was sued in a civil lawsuit and lost after borrowing about 240 million won from his former agency and failing to repay it.
