[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province announced on the 25th that it will issue compliance confirmation certificates for administrative orders on quarantine measures for facilities subject to gathering bans and business restrictions that were omitted from the Small Business Support Fund payments.
This issuance of confirmation certificates aims to assist small business owners who were subject to administrative orders for gathering bans or business hour restrictions due to social distancing quarantine measures but either received only 1 million won during the first rapid payment or were completely excluded from the support.
The local government intends to help small business owners excluded from the support target by confirming that their facilities are subject to gathering bans or business restrictions so they can apply for the Support Fund.
The industries eligible for confirmation certificates include a total of 16 types: 9 types under gathering bans and 7 types under business restrictions.
Issuance of confirmation certificates for entertainment bars, karaoke bars, colatecs, restaurants (including cafes), and lodging facilities (excluding rural homestays and tourist accommodations) will be handled by the Jeongeup City Health and Hygiene Division.
Additionally, rural homestays will be issued by the Agricultural Policy Division, tourist accommodations by the Tourism Division, indoor sports facilities by the Facility Management Office, direct sales promotion centers by the Regional Economy Division, and singing practice rooms by the Culture and Arts Division, which will verify business registration certificates before issuing confirmation certificates.
Small business owners who receive the confirmation certificates must directly apply for the support fund on the Support Fund website during the application period starting from the 1st of next month.
A city official stated, “As the difficulties faced by small business owners continue due to COVID-19, we hope this small help will enable them to endure the crisis,” adding, “We will continue active promotion to ensure no eligible recipients are omitted.”
