[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Yeoju City in Gyeonggi Province is supporting eco-friendly wood pellet boilers, which have high effects in reducing winter heating costs and carbon dioxide emissions.
The city announced on the 25th, "In 2020, support was provided only for residential use, but in 2021, support has become available not only for residential boilers but also for boilers used in social welfare facilities."
This year, Yeoju plans to support four residential boilers, with a cost of about 4 million won per unit. Only products registered as distribution targets by the Korea Forest Service will receive 70% of the installation cost (about 2.8 million won), and one social welfare facility boiler will be fully supported with 4 million won.
Applicants must have an address in Yeoju City and submit the application form along with documents that can verify actual residence, such as the building register (or building permit if under construction).
