[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, is expanding the 080 Safe Call Service, which authenticates by phone for citizens who have difficulty or are unable to use smartphone electronic entry logs.
The city announced on the 25th that the Safe Call Service, which has been used as a substitute for electronic entry logs since last November, will be expanded not only to public facilities such as city hall and administrative welfare centers but also to all facilities requiring entry log registration.
Applications are accepted starting today through the Gimhae City Hall website.
Each facility that applies will be assigned a different 080 phone number, and when visitors call the assigned number, their phone number and visit time are automatically recorded.
Call charges are borne by Gimhae City, and the records are automatically deleted four weeks after the visit date.
The collected information is used only for rapid epidemiological investigation and contact tracing in case of confirmed cases, in accordance with the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
Kang Bok-soon, Director of Information and Communication, said, “With the expansion of the Safe Call Service, visitor convenience will improve and personal information will be managed safely. We ask many businesses to apply for the service and citizens to actively participate in accurate entry log registration to end COVID-19 as soon as possible.”
