"Andong City’s 'One Person Per Household' COVID-19 Testing Campaign for Asymptomatic Infection Prevention"

Free Testing at Public Health Center Screening Clinics Starting from the 25th

"Andong City’s 'One Person Per Household' COVID-19 Testing Campaign for Asymptomatic Infection Prevention" Andong City Hall

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Andong City announced on the 25th that it will conduct a 'One Person per Household COVID-19 Free Testing' campaign.

Starting from this day, Andong City is guiding citizens so that one representative from the 'household members' who live and make a living together gets tested. The tests are conducted free of charge at the screening clinic in front of the Andong City Public Health Center.

Although recent cluster infections in group facilities have decreased nationwide, as of January, infections between individuals such as family, acquaintances, and coworkers account for 64.1% of all confirmed cases.

Unlike the first and second waves, which centered on cluster infections in multi-use facilities, the third wave was characterized by widespread community transmission, and with about two months of winter remaining?a season with high viral transmissibility?the risk of COVID-19 resurgence remains high.

Recently, one out of three confirmed cases has been asymptomatic. According to Andong City, this means that citizens' participation and cooperation in proactive measures to prevent infections among close contacts is more important than anything else.

Mayor Kwon Young-se of Andong said, "To prevent the spread of asymptomatic infections, please ensure that at least one person per household gets tested for COVID-19," and added, "I hope all citizens participate in COVID-19 prevention to protect the health of their precious families and neighbors."
