[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] The 'Socar Card,' featuring exclusive benefits for Socar users, has been launched. This is the first time in Korea that a mobility platform has partnered with a credit card company to introduce a private label credit card (PLCC) with exclusive benefits.
Hyundai Card announced on the 25th that it has unveiled the PLCC 'Socar Card,' which offers benefits focused on Socar. When using the Socar Card on Socar, users can earn 3% of their monthly Socar payment amount up to 300,000 KRW as 'Socar Credit,' which can be used like cash on Socar. Reflecting the characteristics of Socar customers who are active in travel and leisure activities, the card also provides a 3% credit benefit on spending up to 300,000 KRW at dining, coffee shops, hotels, movies, taxis, public transportation, and premium outlets. For other general merchants, 1% of the payment amount is accumulated as Socar Credit.
The card plate features a design that wittily reinterprets Socar's identity. A total of five types of card plates incorporate designs combining digital maps, road signs, car games, and Socar's identity.
Socar and Hyundai Card are also running special promotions for Socar Card members. From today, for one year, an additional 2% credit benefit will be given when using Socar, allowing up to 5% Socar Credit accumulation. Additionally, members who make their first payment with the Socar Card on Socar will receive an immediate discount benefit of up to 20,000 KRW.
Until March 31, members who register the Socar Card as a payment card on the Socar application (app) will receive a 3-month 'Socar Half-Price Pass,' allowing use of all Socar vehicle types at a 50% discounted price. Along with this, the first 3,000 Socar VIP members who register the Socar Card will receive limited edition Oxford Socar goods.
The Socar Card can be applied for through the Socar app, and the annual fee is 10,000 KRW for both domestic-only and domestic/international (VISA) versions.
